Behold! The winning filmmakers of the SoCal Film Group Lost Weekend Instant Film Contest!
The winners delivered their Worse Than Vietnam: A Musical entry just in time. This team got dealt a tough blow from the contest's get-go. They had no luck when they had to randomly draw for their assigned genre and got "Musical". Ouch, that doth suck when you only have 47 hours and 40 minutes remaining to deliver the winning short film. But, 'Lo, the Moons of Yavin!, these guys didn't let that stop them and seized the spirit of the Lost Weekend's challenge and delivered an instant-audience favorite at the premiere showing during the Silver Lake Film Festival.
Check out the final hit number from Worse Than Vietnam: A Musical, a stellar effort by dual-directors Jason Schnell & Eric Pumphrey. Just think about it! You have to deliver a musical 10 minute short film in 48 hours. Schnell & Pumphrey and their team scripted, wrote, scored, performed, filmed, edited and rendered three other musical numbers to complete their winning entry in less than 48 hours as well. And producer/WB star Lynsey Bartilson lends total credibility to the actors' efforts. She rocks and wait until you hear about her rumored use of the Honesty Tasliman candle in another number!

One hint as to why the film was yanked can still be found at the now unbranded WtV MySpace profile. A single blog entry offers the following:

Due to circumstances beyond our control we can no longer show "Worse Than Vietnam: The Musical". I am glad you all enjoyed it (those who did enjoy it, who ever you are) but its time to say GOOD BYE!!!!!!!!!!
